Priority Registration - April 1, 2013 - May 28, 2013

This option is available to currently enrolled degree-seeking students only.

Procedures:

Students should go to their assigned advisor prior to self-enrolling. Some departments may establish appointments.

The student will receive the following from their advisor: Assistance with course selection; Initial date of registration eligibility; Alternate PIN - necessary to access the registration system.

Visiting College Students

If you are attending another junior college, college, or university and wish to take classes at Western and transfer the Western coursework to the parent institution for degree applicability, you must provide:

  • Application for admission Open in new window
  • $15 application fee (one-time fee, required only upon initial application to Western)
  • An unofficial transcript or letter of “Good Standing” from the parent institution. A visiting college student with a complete file will be eligible to register on-line beginning May 1.

If you do not wish coursework to be degree applicable and are attending for self-enrichment, you must provide:

Early Registration - May 1, 2013 – May 28, 2013

Non-degree seeking students, returning students and all new students may register on-line or by appointment.

  • Applicants will receive a letter detailing the procedures for registration and advisement.
  • Current non-degree seeking students may register on-line or through the Registrar’s Office (12:00-1:00 and 3:30-4:30 Monday through Friday).
Walk-In Registration - May 23, 2013, 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Initiate enrollment process in Eder Hall.
  • New students will be required to meet with an advisor to select courses. Advisors will be located in their academic department during registration.
Late Registration

Late registration fee: $50 - Assessed to students who initially enroll, or to pre-registered students who make schedule changes during the applicable add/drop schedule.

  • Initiate enrollment process in the Admissions Office (Eder Hall 101).
  • New students must meet with an advisor for scheduling assistance.
  • Advisor will process registration or, with an advisor signature, the student may present the desired course selection list to the Registrar’s Office (Eder Hall 102).

NOTE: You do not qualify for federal financial assistance as a special student. (Visiting college students who are not seeking a degree at Western are considered "special students." You are a special student if you are not seeking a degree at Western but desire to enroll in credit courses.)


NOTE: A student under suspension from Western is ineligible to be admitted in this category. A student admitted in this category who later decides to seek a degree at Western must re-apply for admission in the appropriate admission category. Consult the Office of Admissions (Eder Hall 101). All applicable credit earned while a special student will be applied to the new admission status.

Visiting High School Students

Visiting high school students who are not seeking a degree at Western are considered "special students." You are a special student if you are not seeking a degree at Western but desire to enroll in credit courses.

If you have completed the junior year of high school and are seeking attendance at Western on a part-time basis concurrent with your high school attendance, you must provide:

  • $15 application fee (a one-time fee, required only upon initial application to Western)
  • Certification from the high school principal (required each term prior to registration)
